Dryocopus pileatus
We were watching the birds and there wasn't much happening so I was going to get up and walk around and doe and fawn walked across the back yard, The doe was showing the fawn how to check the gate as I leave it open sometimes during the day. Odocoileus hemionus sitkensis
First instar. I raised them last year and ended up with eight coccoons, They all emerged with four of them being females. There siblings will ignore the pheromones coming from the female so I had to but here in a cage so wild males could mate with her, and protect them because they can stay attached for a couple of days. These will eat a steady diet of crab apple leaves then coccoon near the end of august.
