Hyalophora euryalus This second largest of our local silkmoths. They can be found in late April and early May. I placed her in a paper bag and she layed about fifty eggs, I released her tonight so she can lay the rest out in the wild. The adults don't feed so they don't live long, I will raise a half a dozen of the cats and let the rest go, common host plants around here are Willow and Alder. I raised a few dozen Polyphemus Silkmoth cat's last year and looking forward for them to emerge around the middle of June. I want to try some different moths this year, these ones and maybe some Sphinx Moths, and butterflies too if I can find some eggs, did a couple of Anise Swallowtails a couple of years ago, didn't find any eggs this year, I find them on the Bronze Fennel.
